Who We Are
Wisconsin for Environmental Justice is a small, statewide organization working to protect people, communities, and local budgets from the growing impacts of climate change.

As Wisconsin experiences more flooding, extreme heat, and strain on roads, schools, and public infrastructure, communities are being asked to pay more just to stay safe. We believe those costs shouldn’t fall on families and taxpayers alone.
Why We Do This
Climate change is no longer a distant issue in Wisconsin. It’s showing up in everyday ways, from dangerous heat that disrupts daily life to flooding that damages homes and public spaces.

Some communities are affected first and hardest, often with fewer resources to respond. We exist to help ensure those communities aren’t left behind and that solutions are fair, practical, and grounded in real needs.
What Environmental Justice Means To Us
Environmental justice means everyone deserves clean air, safe water, and a healthy place to live, no matter their income, race, or ZIP code.

It also means recognizing that environmental harm does not affect everyone equally, that the people most impacted should have a voice in shaping solutions, and that those who caused the harm should be held accountable for the damage they created.
